Greater Dredging Depths with a Lowerable Pump Ladder
The “Catamaran Electric – with Submersible Pump” suction dredger is based on the proven design of the Catamaran Electric with Walkable Pontoons. Two generously dimensioned side pontoons, a comfortable operator’s cabin, and the excellent stability provided by the catamaran design form the foundation of this powerful and maintenance-friendly suction dredger.
The key feature of this design is the lowerable ladder structure positioned centrally between the pontoons. The dredge pump is mounted on this ladder and, depending on the configuration, can be lowered up to 15 metres below the waterline. This allows the pump to operate in close proximity to the dredging area and, in combination with a suitable suction pipe arrangement, enables dredging depths of up to 50 metres.
Flexible Pump and Drive Configurations
Various drive solutions are available for the dredge pump. The pump can either be equipped with a submersible electric motor or driven via a shaft drive system connected to a standard electric motor installed above the waterline.
The jet system can also be flexibly adapted to the specific application. Options include vertical turbine or borehole pumps mounted directly on the ladder, as well as conventional horizontal pump units.
These different configuration options allow for a wide range of pump capacities and production rates, enabling the dredger to be precisely tailored to the material being extracted, the required dredging depth, and the desired production capacity.
Comfortable Operation and Easy Maintenance Access
The walkable side pontoons and spacious operator’s cabin follow the proven design of our catamaran series. They provide generous working and technical areas, as well as a comfortable working environment for the operator. Various levels of control and automation can also be implemented, including fully remote operation from shore.
A particular advantage becomes apparent during maintenance: In its horizontal resting position, the ladder provides safe and convenient access to the pumps and other equipment installed on it. This allows maintenance and servicing work to be carried out easily and efficiently.
