Rectangular Floats · Open Center Pontoon

Our Suction Dredger in Catamaran Configuration with an Open Center Pontoon combines a compact, robust design with rapid operational readiness and a high degree of flexibility in its technical configuration.

Compact Monoblock Design

The side pontoons and center pontoon are manufactured as one integrated unit. This monoblock design significantly reduces the assembly work required on site. Only a few bolted connections need to be made, and essential cable and pipeline connections can remain in place during transport.

For the operator, this means shorter assembly times, fewer connection points, and faster operational readiness of the suction dredger.

Due to its one-piece construction, transportation on public roads generally requires a special transport permit. However, this is offset by a significant advantage: Once the suction dredger arrives at the operating site, it can be commissioned with comparatively little assembly work.

Open Center Pontoon for Easy Accessibility

The center pontoon features an open design, providing direct access to the dredge pump, main engine, and auxiliary equipment. This open configuration facilitates inspection, maintenance, and servicing while allowing quick access to the system’s essential components.

A bilge pump ensures that the center pontoon remains dry at all times.

Optimal Positioning of the Dredge Pump

A particular advantage of this design is the low installation position of the dredge pump within the pontoon. The pump is positioned only slightly above the waterline, creating favorable suction conditions that are particularly beneficial during start-up and continuous dredging operations.

At the same time, this dredger type offers a wide range of options for selecting the dredge pump. The pumping system can therefore be specifically tailored to the required flow rate, material being pumped, pumping distance, and individual operating conditions.

Elevated Operator’s Station for Excellent Visibility

The elevated operator’s station provides the operator with excellent all-round visibility of the working environment and dredging operations. Working areas, pontoons, and the immediate surroundings can be monitored more effectively – an important advantage for safe, controlled, and efficient operation.

Your Benefits:

The catamaran with an open central pontoon and monoblock construction is therefore particularly well suited for applications requiring a robust design, short setup times, easy maintenance access, and pumping technology tailored to specific operating requirements.
